Course evaluations via Studium
The system for course evaluations is integrated with the Studium learning environment. This partially automates the process for working with course evaluations. For example, the correct students are transferred as recipients to the course evaluation and teachers in the course become co-orderers (see below). When creating course evaluations directly in the system (not via Studium)
When you log in directly to the course evaluation system there is no automation. You must then manually enter the following information in the course evaluation settings:
- co-orderer, when you have colleagues who must have access to the course evaluation (see below)
- course code or registration code so that the right student group has the opportunity to fill in the questionnaire.
Briefly about the system
- The system for course evaluations is connected to the Studium learning environment when the Course Evaluations link is activated by the teacher or administrator in the course via Settings>Navigation.
- By clicking on Course Evaluations in Studium, you will see an overview page of the course evaluation system. Here you can:
- See which course evaluations already have been added to the current course and their status.
- Find links to reviewed compilation and course report when these are completed and published.
- As an employee, easily create new course evaluations.
- As a student, directly see which course evaluation is open and reach the questionnaire by clicking on a link.
- When creating a course evaluation, you can start from ready-made templates with questions or create the questions manually. There are course evaluation templates at university level, disciplinary domain and department level.
- There are a number of different roles in the system:
- orderer (the person who creates a course evaluation, creates and edits questions, sees results, writes a course report, etc.)
- co-orderer (with the same rights as the orderer)
- reviewer (can "depersonalize" the compilation of the results, remove and edit inappropriate text comments from the students)
- recepient (the person who answers the questions, i.e. the students, which automatically receives an email when the course evaluation opens).
- Under My Page orderers, co-orderers, and reviewers can get an overview of their course evaluations. Reviewers can, for example, see the opening and closing dates, follow how many students have responded and find direct links to course evaluations for editing, send e-mail reminders, view compilations and course reports, etc. Additionally, reviewers will also find direct links to review forms for course evaluation results.
History
The system for course evaluations has been developed by MedfarmDoIT at Uppsala University and has been used for a long time in the disciplinary domain of medicine and pharmacy to create digital forms (surveys, registrations, and course evaluations). The system was connected to Studium in spring semester 2022, and is from spring semester 2023 Uppsala University's central system for course evaluations.
